Georgia PSC natural gas rate report, October 2026

Ten marketers filed a standard 12-month fixed plan on the Georgia PSC’s October 2026 chart, effective October 1 to 6. The lowest filed rate is $0.650 per therm, from Fuel Georgia. That is the lowest since January 2026 ($0.620) and 0.9 cents under September’s low.
Open Natural Gas ranks every filing by estimated annual cost: the rate, twelve months of the marketer’s service charge, and Atlanta Gas Light’s base charge, for 641 therms a year. It takes no paid placement. The Georgia Public Service Commission does not rank or endorse marketers.
What changed from September
- Six marketers lowered their rate and four held. None raised it. Georgia Natural Gas fell 4.0 cents ($0.719 to $0.679), the largest cut. Gas South and SCANA Energy each cut 2.0 cents; True Natural Gas, Fuel Georgia and Walton EMC Natural Gas each cut 1.0 cent.
- Xoom Energy, Stream Energy, Constellation and Town Square Energy did not change. Xoom held at $0.659 and slipped from first to second by annual cost as Fuel Georgia cut its rate.
- The median filed rate fell from $0.705 to $0.680.
- The gap between the cheapest and most expensive marketer is $157.73 a year ($1,069.18 for Fuel Georgia against $1,226.91 for Town Square Energy), up from $153.76 in September.
October ranking by estimated annual cost
| Rank | Marketer | Filed rate | Service charge | Annual cost | September rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fuel Georgia | $0.650 | $6.00 | $1,069.18 | $0.660 |
| 2 | Xoom Energy | $0.659 | $5.85 | $1,073.15 | $0.659 |
| 3 | Stream Energy | $0.659 | $6.95 | $1,086.35 | $0.659 |
| 4 | True Natural Gas | $0.681 | $5.95 | $1,088.45 | $0.691 |
| 5 | Gas South | $0.670 | $6.95 | $1,093.40 | $0.690 |
| 6 | Georgia Natural Gas | $0.679 | $7.99 | $1,111.65 | $0.719 |
| 7 | SCANA Energy | $0.699 | $6.95 | $1,111.99 | $0.719 |
| 8 | Walton EMC Natural Gas | $0.719 | $5.95 | $1,112.81 | $0.729 |
| 9 | Constellation | $0.839 | $5.95 | $1,189.73 | $0.839 |
| 10 | Town Square Energy | $0.897 | $5.95 | $1,226.91 | $0.897 |
Rank follows annual cost, not the per-therm rate: Xoom and Stream filed the same $0.659 rate, but Stream’s service charge is $1.10 a month higher, so Xoom costs less over a year. The PSC’s regulated provider (Group 1, $0.649, $1,038.54 a year) is the safety-net rate, not a marketer plan, and is listed separately on the site.
Advertised rates sit well below the filed ones
A marketer’s filed rate is the price in its PSC filing. Several are advertising lower prices to new customers right now. Each of these has a dated record on the site showing where it was seen:
| Marketer | Advertised | Filed | Where seen | Through |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Georgia Natural Gas | $0.449 (introductory, with Greener Life) | $0.679 | gng.com | Nov 4, 2026 |
| True Natural Gas | $0.499, code SCORE26 | $0.681 | truenaturalgas.com | Jan 5, 2027 |
| Georgia Natural Gas | $0.499 | $0.679 | Meta Ad Library | not stated |
| SCANA Energy | $0.579, code SAVE (18-month Plus) | $0.629 | scanaenergy.com | Nov 5, 2026 |
GNG’s $0.449 is the $0.499 plan less a $0.05 per therm reward for the first 12 bills, available only while the customer stays enrolled in Greener Life, an optional add-on with a $4.99 monthly charge that GNG credits for 12 months. New-customer limits are common, and each offer’s stated conditions are on its evidence page. These offers do not change the ranking above, because they are not what the marketers filed with the PSC.
How to use this
Check the PSC filing for the plan you are quoted, then ask the marketer whether a promo code applies. The full filed table is at opennaturalgas.org/georgia/, and the data behind it is published as rates.json.
Updated October 6, 2026: the PSC replaced its October fixed-rate chart the same day it was posted, correcting Xoom Energy’s standard 12-month rate from $0.689 to $0.659. The figures above reflect the corrected chart.
