open natural gas

Privacy

This page covers the website at opennaturalgas.org and the plugin that answers the same questions inside ChatGPT and Claude. The plugin's server is at mcp.opennaturalgas.org. Both are built and paid for by adPharos. There is nothing to sign up for and no account to create.

The website

The website is a set of static pages. There is exactly one input: the ZIP code box in the pool group guide. Your ZIP is matched against a table already downloaded with that page, entirely inside your browser. It is not sent to us, not sent to anyone else, not stored, and not logged.

Google Analytics 4 is the only analytics on the website. It records which pages are opened, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and what kind of device and browser it used. Google sets its own cookies to do that, a _ga cookie and a second cookie named for this property. Their default life is 2 years, and a browser may expire them sooner. The website sets no cookies of its own and does not override those defaults. Google's policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. The property's setting for user-level and event-level data is 14 months. Standard aggregated reports can remain longer than that.

Sign-up links go to the marketer's own website and carry a utm_source parameter identifying this site as the referrer. Nothing about you is passed along, and nothing comes back: the site is not told whether you signed up, and is paid nothing either way. Once you are on a marketer's site, that company's privacy policy governs what it collects.

The plugin

The plugin is read-only. It does not enroll you. The tools do not ask for your chat, your account, your email, or your location. ChatGPT or Claude sends only the arguments for the question: a plan type (fixed, variable, senior, or prepay), and sometimes a yearly therm figure, a marketer's name, or a month range. Anything placed in one of those arguments, including a personal detail typed into the marketer-name field, is used to look up the published PSC filings and return the answer. adPharos does not retain those arguments, and the server writes no log of its own.

Cloudflare hosts the server and processes the connection in order to deliver the response. We have not turned on request logging, and we do not use plugin traffic for analytics or to build a profile of who asked. If a link in an answer points back to this website, it carries utm_source of chatgpt-plugin, claude-plugin, or mcp-plugin, so the website's analytics can tell which directory sent the click. The link does not carry your name or the question.

Do not send a Social Security number, a gas account number, a password, or a copy of a bill through the plugin. The tools do not ask for those.

The conversation stays with the host you used. OpenAI's privacy policy governs ChatGPT. Anthropic's privacy policy governs Claude. We are not OpenAI or Anthropic, and neither operates this site.

Who else sees it

Google, for the website analytics described above. Cloudflare, which hosts the website and the plugin server. adPharos, which reads mail to [email protected] in order to answer you or fix what you reported. The host you already opened (OpenAI or Anthropic) receives the tool result, because it asked for it. Marketers receive nothing from us.

How long it is kept

Plugin arguments are not kept by adPharos. Email is kept until you ask us to delete it. We use it to answer you and to fix what you reported, and there is no shorter automatic purge. Website analytics: user-level and event-level data are kept for 14 months. Aggregated reports can remain longer. The analytics cookies last up to 2 years unless the browser expires them sooner.

Your choices

Do not use the plugin if you do not want those arguments sent. Browser controls, and the opt-out described in Google's privacy policy, limit the website analytics. Email [email protected] to ask us to delete a message you sent. There is nothing to delete on the plugin, because the request is not kept.

Advertising

There are no ads on the website, and none in the plugin. No advertising cookies are set. If ads are ever turned on, this page will be updated to say what they collect before they run.

How you may use the website and the plugin is on the terms. Other questions: contact.
