- Who qualifies for a senior natural gas rate in Georgia?
- Marketers file separate senior plans on the Georgia PSC's senior chart, generally for customers 65 and over. Eligibility rules are set by each marketer, so confirm age and any other requirements with the marketer before you enroll.
- Is the Atlanta Gas Light senior discount the same as a marketer senior plan?
- No. A marketer senior plan sets the price of the gas. Atlanta Gas Light's separate income-qualified senior discount reduces the delivery charge. It requires an application, age 65 or over, income within the program's current limit, and the account in the senior applicant's name. Check the official application for current eligibility.
- Do senior plans include both fixed and variable rates?
- Yes. The PSC's senior chart carries both variable and fixed senior plans, so this page lists them separately rather than ranking a variable rate against a fixed one.
- Are there natural gas senior discounts in Georgia?
- Two separate things. Atlanta Gas Light's senior discount lowers the delivery charge for customers 65 or older whose household income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines (AGL lists $31,920.00), with the account in the applicant's name; you apply with AGL's form. The PSC's October 2026 chart prices the base charge for qualifying seniors at $411.05 a year, against $580.53 for everyone else. Separately, marketers file senior plans on the PSC's senior chart (35 this month), generally for customers 65 and over; some require the AGL discount. You can have both.
